Privacy policy

Last updated 12 August 2026. This covers https://apptime.me and the AppTime Cite Chrome extension.

AppTime.Me Ltd operates AppTime Cite. We collect as little as possible: the extension has no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers, and we never sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

What the extension collects

Everything the extension handles is information you type into it. When you set up a check, it stores the brand names, domains, competitor names, and prompts you enter, plus the results that come back.

It also creates a random install identifier — a string of characters with no connection to you, your browser profile, or any account. Its only job is to count how many checks an install has run today so the free daily limit can be applied.

The extension does not read the pages you visit.

It has no content scripts, requests no access to your tabs or browsing history, and cannot see anything on the sites you open. It runs entirely in its own side panel.

Where that information goes

Your setup and results are saved locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage. When you press Run check, your brands, domains, competitors, and prompts are sent over HTTPS to our API at https://apptime.me, which passes them to our automation service and to a large language model provider that generates the answers we analyse.

The model provider processes your prompts to produce a response. We do not send them your identity, your install identifier, or anything else about you.

Our server keeps the most recent results so the extension can retrieve them if a check is still running, and keeps a daily count of checks per install identifier for the usage limit. Our hosting provider records standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

What we never collect

Browsing history, page contents, keystrokes, form data from other sites, location, health or financial information, authentication credentials, and personal communications. We do not use cookies for tracking in the extension, and we do not build advertising profiles.

How long we keep it

Local extension data stays until you clear it or remove the extension. Daily usage counts are kept for up to 30 days. Stored results are transient and overwritten by your next check. Contact form submissions are retained as business correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and meet our record-keeping obligations.

Deleting your data

Use Clear in the extension to remove stored results, or uninstall the extension to remove everything it saved locally. To have server-side records deleted, email hello@apptime.me and we will action it.

The website

If you submit the contact form we receive the details you provide — name, email, and your message — so we can reply. It is used for that conversation only and is sent through our email provider.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@apptime.me. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes affecting the extension will be noted in its release notes.
